About SquatStandards

A focused resource for understanding squat performance — built on transparency, context, and useful information.

Squat Standards Platform Overview

What SquatStandards Is

SquatStandards is a specialized platform dedicated to squat performance. It exists to help lifters, coaches, and anyone interested in strength training understand squat standards, training concepts, and the data behind meaningful benchmarks.

The platform is not a generic fitness website. It focuses specifically on the squat ecosystem — from back squats and front squats to training methodology, equipment considerations, and the statistical frameworks used to measure performance.

Why It Exists

Most squat standards found online present a single table of numbers without explaining where the numbers come from, which population they represent, or what assumptions were made. That lack of context makes the information less useful and sometimes misleading.

SquatStandards was created to address this gap. The goal is to provide squat-related information that is transparent about its sources, honest about its limitations, and structured in a way that helps people make informed comparisons.

Platform Philosophy

Three principles guide everything on this platform:

  • Context over simplification. A squat number without context — bodyweight, age, experience, variation, equipment, population — is incomplete information. Every standard should include the variables that produced it.
  • Transparency over authority. Rather than claiming definitive universal standards, the platform documents where data comes from, what methodology is used, and where reasonable disagreement exists between different sources.
  • Usefulness over volume. Every page exists to answer a specific question or serve a clear purpose. Content is added when it provides genuine value, not to increase page count.

Current Stage

SquatStandards is actively being developed. The current version establishes the platform's educational foundation — squat knowledge, training concepts, methodology documentation, and reference material.

Future development will introduce interactive tools, calculators, and performance benchmarks, each built with full transparency about their data sources, formulas, assumptions, and limitations.
